A Tesla Almost Took My Bumper
I don’t particularly appreciate driving on the interstate, but sometimes it can’t be avoided. Like when you need to get from point A to point B and you don’t have time for the scenic route.
Last weekend, I had to drive on the interstate. We hadn’t gone very far before I wondered if I had somehow stumbled onto the Texas Motor Speedway. Except this was Alabama, and we were heading to Nashville.
If you’ve never driven on I-65 from coastal Alabama to middle Tennessee — I don’t recommend it. At least not on a busy weekend.
The speed limit sign said 70, but cars zoomed up behind me and then slid around me like I was standing still. It made me think those signs were actually a secret code for drive 85, and I was the only one who missed the memo.
It happened during one of those white-knuckle moments when I was trying to keep my cool as cars and trucks flew by. I had cautiously moved into the center lane to pass a semi-truck. Cars were whizzing past in the far left lane, and that’s when I saw it.
In my rearview mirror, I watched as a white Tesla moved out from behind the semi, passed behind me, and moved into the left lane. Before I knew it, he passed me on the left and then came right into my lane in front of me — or, more accurately, right into me.
Almost.
My mind instantly played out the disastrous scenarios that would likely result from kissing bumpers with a Tesla.
I simultaneously stomped on the brakes and laid on the horn.
I may have uttered an expletive or two. I’m not proud of that – especially since my niece and nephew were in the back seat. Luckily they were blissfully unaware, their attention captured by the tiny screens in their hands.
My quick reflexes bought us a few inches, and instead of ending in disaster with my bumper in the middle of the interstate and who knows what else, the Tesla kept going, and I started to breathe again.
Maybe you were holding your breath too. It’s okay. You can let it out now.
You may wonder why I decided to grace your inbox with this story about the hazards of driving on the highway.
It started because I wanted to share something with you that helps me when I travel. But then I remembered the close call we had; before I knew it, the words I was typing had taken us down this path.
What I actually wanted to share with you is something that has helped me whenever I have to sit for long periods, like on long car rides or airplane rides.
I don’t know if you’ve ever experienced the bloating and slowed metabolism that inevitably accompanies travel, but I have. It’s so uncomfortable!
Your stomach is swollen like a late summer watermelon, and your waistband is digging into your skin. You try to drink more water, but that means you must find a bathroom more often.
Each time you stop for a break, you walk laps around the convenience store, trying to get those gas bubbles to move.
But they’re stuck.
Your metabolism is stuck.
You’re stuck.
That’s why I was over the moon when I found something that got rid of that bloat. It keeps things moving smoothly and effortlessly, even when I have to sit for a long time.
Since I’ve used it, I no longer have to wear my extra stretchy pants on the drive. You know the ones —the Thanksgiving pants. I can wear whatever I feel cute and comfy in.
Curious to know what it is?
It’s called BioCleanse, and it’s a magnesium supplement. Who knew two little capsules could make traveling so much more enjoyable? All I do is take two with a glass of water before I head out, and voila!
No more bloat.
Now don’t let the word cleanse scare you. You won’t be running for the bathroom with clenched cheeks. It’s not like that. It gently pulls water into your intestines, making it easy when it’s time to eliminate that waste.
Wonder if it could work for you?
My friend Gigi said, “I take it every day. I never miss it. ESPECIALLY a great “travel tool.” I used to get constipated every time I traveled. Not anymore. I take a couple of extra Biocleanse on travel days, and no more bloating and constipation. 🤭😊”
Anyway, if you’ve got holiday travel in the near future and want to do it without the bellyache, why not give BioCleanse a try? Here’s the link in case you’re thinking about it.
